You remain responsible for deciding what information you wish to share with us.

We do not use this information for purposes unrelated to providing our services unless we have a separate lawful basis to do so or you have given your consent.

4. Call recordings and notes

Calls may be recorded with your knowledge and consent, solely for the purpose of creating an accurate summary and personalised plan.

If a call is recorded, the recording may be used to:

  • Accurately remember the information discussed

  • Prepare a personalised summary

  • Create or improve your individual plan

  • Ensure that important information discussed during the consultation is not missed

We do not use call recordings for public content, advertising or promotional purposes without your separate permission.

We may also make written notes during or after a consultation for the purpose of providing the service.

5. Where your information is stored

Depending on the type of information, information may be stored or processed using services such as:

  • Squarespace – website and related website services

  • Stripe – payment processing

  • Cal.com – appointment scheduling

  • Google Workspace / Gmail – business email and related services

  • Google Drive – storage

  • Notion – organisation and management of client information and notes

These providers may process personal data on our behalf. Their own privacy policies and terms may also apply to the processing they carry out.

We take reasonable steps to use reputable service providers and protect the information we hold.

6. Payments

Payments may be processed through Stripe and payment functionality provided through Squarespace.

Local Life Abroad does not need to receive or store your full payment card details. Payment information may be processed directly by the relevant payment provider.

Payment providers may process your information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable laws.

7. Marketing communications

We may use your email address to send marketing communications about Local Life Abroad, including information about our services, guides, offers, content or other relevant updates, where we have the appropriate legal basis to do so.

You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe option included in the communication or by contacting us at hello@locallifeabroad.com.

Service-related emails, such as booking confirmations or information necessary to provide a service you have purchased, are not marketing communications.

Client information and notes are not kept indefinitely.

Call recordings, where applicable, are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to create and complete the relevant summary or personalised plan and for a limited period afterwards where necessary for legitimate business purposes.

Certain financial and transaction records may need to be retained for longer periods where required by Dutch tax or other applicable laws.

When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or securely dispose of it.
